Dr. Melissa Gagnon, OTD, OTR/L
Melissa Gagnon is a licensed and registered occupational therapist who has blended her passion for aerial arts, dramatic play, and the science of occupational therapy to create Cirque Therapy, a pediatric OT clinic in Homer, Alaska.
Melissa studied biological sciences at University of Alaska, Anchorage, Kachemak Bay Campus, and University of Alaska, Fairbanks. She studied occupational therapy in Creighton University’s Alaska cohort and earned her doctorate in 2013. She studied aerial arts at Canopy Studio and AVPDA in Athens, GA, and Circus Arts Institute in Atlanta, GA. She is also certified with Rhythmic Movement Training International, Interactive Metronome, Interactive Listening Systems, and Circus Arts Therapy.

Cirque Therapy is seeking qualified candidates to fill the role of medical receptionist. The ideal candidate has experience working in a medical office and is familiar with HIPAA and patient confidentiality. Medical billing background is preferred. Duties include scheduling patients, verifying insurance, communicating with other health professionals, accepting payments, updating social media, etc. Will be making patient handouts, flyers, and creating documents for health fairs. Must have above average customer service skills and the constitution to thrive in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
